Greenpeace cycle ride, Worthing Prom

Greenpeace are organising a Cycle Ride along the Prom from Splash Point to George 5th Ave & back to promote 350.org/Moving Planet on 24 Sept, a day of events happening globally.

Come and enjoy completely traffic-free cycling on Worthing’s excellent seafront!

The ride will start at 11:30am proceded by a stall at 11am that will have leaflets promoting cycling & the 20’s Plenty Campaign plus other related isssues.

Pedal the Prom a Great Success!

The Pedal the Prom event for Bike week went off very well. We met at Splash Point, and had several photos taken by the Herald’s photographer before setting off gently along the Prom.

Although we were a spread-out group of perhaps 40 to 50 cyclists, there were no problems with the other cyclists and pedestrians on the Prom.

Become a Bicycle Ride Leader

Worthing and Adur councils are offering a Ride Leader Award course for people who would be prepared to help set up one or two recreational cycling groups for adults who are returning to cycling in the Adur and Worthing area.

The cost of the course is £24 plus an agreement to provide 20 hours of voluntary time.

Venue: West Parade (between Wallace Avenue and Grand Avenue) near children’s seafront playground, the road will be closed to motor vehicles!

Come and cycle the sea-front road with no traffic to worry about!
