Cycle route on the prom gets formal approval

Good News - The Secretary of State has formally approved the new byelaws which will allow cycling along the promenade!

Thank you to all those of you who wrote to the Department of Communities and Local Government to express your support for this.

The byelaws, which will permit cyclists to share the prom with other users, will come into force on 28 August. It is anticipated the formal opening of the prom to cycling will not be on this day but until at least after the Bank Holiday weekend of 29/30/31 August. During that weekend there will be a big funfair and carnival on the seafront which will restrict the passage of cyclists.
